Sometimes I think that blankets should be banned in group therapy. I understand that:
- group rooms can be cold
- body image is tough and it’s easier to hide behind a blanket
- blankets are comfy
- therapy can suck
… but really, how much are you getting out of group if your head is under the blanket?

Well, you can still hear and be present without the fear of participation or being judged.
I don’t really know alot about how this is used in therapy, but I believe that many people can get alot out of passively listening or participating without seeing. And some people may need that initial comfort to get themselves to a space where they can fully participate.
