Grey,
As usual, your thoughts on ED are right on the money. As I have said before, I'm new to the idea that I even have an ED so I am just beginning to notice how its presense in my life has resulted in the exclusion of other more normal aspects of a healthy life.

I'm continually amazed at how insidious ED is. I'm hopeful that treatment may actually be able to help - I just wish it wasn't so painful to get rid of even dysfunctional behaviors.

Thanks for the post - keep them coming :)

Ah, I love Dr. Drew as well. The quote you included here fits where I am right now in life. Missing out on so much. But not for long.

BTW I've really enjoyed some of your links on Twitter lately. Thanks for sharing!

I agree with you that the ED takes away so much, and it can be about avoiding life. The ED gives us the focus of the ED without really dealing with life at all. Life just becomes a static background, and you're not in it.

It's very sad, but I also think we can't dwell on it either. There is always a time to mourn the loss of what you have/had, but in the end, we have to push through, making the life of what we want now.

Btw, I think Drew Pinksy rocks. I think his take on addictions is spot on.
